were built by ex-Neve employees in the 70's as competition to the 
Neve 33114 and Calrec 1161.  The BBC </span><span style="font-size: 11px;">commissioned</span><span style="font-size: 8pt;"> Audix, Neve and Calrec all to build their rendition of what became these classic EQ's, all with the same gain and EQ points, hi/lo pass filters. You can't touch this classic British sound quality and 
versatile EQ at this price! Uses St. Ives in/out trnasformers. Great for Pro Tools front end.</span></font><br>

The punchy mic pre's add size, with a sweet mid and top end. The hi/lo pass filters are multiposition and very musical.<br><br>Recapped, serviced, in 3u VK rack with 1 year warranty.<br><br>Modules are from the first Helios type 76 brown series desk delivered in the USA. (Originally commisioned by the Seals & Crofts Nashville studio). <br><br><br>The Neve 1073 is justifiably legendary for its beautiful and unique sound, as demonstrated by its use in so many high-end studios, on so many famous recordings. The history of the 1073 goes back forty years, to May of 1970, when one era ended and another began. On May 8, the Beatles released their final album, Let It Be, and two days later, Rupert Neve released the original 1073 microphone pre-amplifier with EQ. It remains the most desirable Class A discrete transistor mic pre to this day.
