(Austin, TX – March 22, 2011) Vintage King Audio, a leading dealer of high-end new and vintage recording equipment, made its mark on the lone star state with their first ever Pro Audio Showcase & Mixer at SXSW on March 17th. Hosted at The Bubble Recording Studio, which was founded in 1998 by Alex Lyon and Chris “Frenchie” Smith, representatives from Vintage King and leading names in equipment manufacturing were on hand to demo gear and answer questions. Brands like A Designs, Apogee, Barefoot Sound, Rascal Audio, Retro Instruments, Rupert Neve Designs, sE Electronics and Shadow Hills Industries were featured. Additionally, much of the gear showcased during the festivities was available for purchase thanks to the unique “cash & carry” set-up.
Sponsored byGearslutz, The Bubble, Focal Press & The Deli, the Vintage King event drew over 200 attendees; notably Kathy Valentine of The Go-Go’s, Peter Reardon of Shadow Hills Industries, Joel Cameron of Rascal Audio, Tristan Rhodes of Rupert Neve Designs and Mike Castoro of Wunder Audio.
For those unable to attend, Vintage King also hosted a live webcast of the showcase and mixer online at www.vintageking.com/sxsw via Ustream TV.
“This Pro Audio Showcase & Mixer marked a number of firsts for Vintage King as a company,” says Ryan McGuire, head of International Sales for Vintage King. “Not only was our first event at SXSW a success, our first live webcast of the demos and overall festivities was an incredible way to connect with Vintage King’s Facebook fans and other clients who were unable to make it to Austin.” McGuire continues, “For those clients we were able to talk to in person, it was a great opportunity to hear what they’re up to and acquaint them with our newest gear.”
