ProAc Studio 100 Monitors A resounding success with audiophiles internationally since its launch in 1990, the Studio 100 is also consistently selected by top recording engineers for near-field monitoring in major studios -ample testimony to its overall sound quality and neutrality at monitor reference levels.
Few compact loudspeakers offer such a clean uncoloured performance and remarkable transparency. With virtually flat frequency response and negligible distortion, the Studio 100 is one of the most accomplished compact performers on the market today.
The bass unit is unique. Manufactured exclusively for ProAc, it has a particularly linear motor assembly, superb magnet and chassis construction and a special centre pole plug. When precisely tuned in the cabinet this driver gives an incredibly natural bass quality and definition, combined with generous power handling.
Primeacoustic Recoil Stabilizers™ are a near field reference monitor platform
designed to decouple the loudspeaker from the supporting shelf while adding
mass to stabilize the speaker from the backward recoil caused by the low
frequency driver motion. The Recoil Stabilizer is made from three components:
a high-density urethane foam base that acts as an isolator to eliminate resonant
frequencies from traveling from the speaker to the shelf, a heavy laser-cut steel
base that acts as both the platform for the speaker and as the stabilizing counterforce,
and thin a non-slip neoprene surface that is used to hold the speaker
securely in place. The Recoil Stabilizer works by simply mounting it beneath the
speaker. A range of sizes are available to adapt to various speakers and these
may be ordered with various angles to aim the loudspeakers as needed.
Includes Straight Wire Pro SC Speaker Cable-Spade to Banana-8Ft Pair
We hand-picked this cable for perfect synergy with the Proac 100's. Certain helical and silver plated cables were found to be aggressive and fatiguing with the Proacs, which have a very natural and open sound which accentuates any coloration by any component in the chain placed before them. This chosen coaxial design has a very realistic and present midrange, with tight bottom-end reproduction. The high end is natural and basically just sounds real, not hyped and analytical as with certain esoteric audiophile designs. A superb all around mixing cable with convenient banana to spade terminations.
