A new concept is born – a simple and intuitive De-Esser, PLUS access to a much more sophisticated frequency specific compressor, giving complete control over aggressive frequencies wherever they may be in the audio spectrum. With the Oxford SuprEsser you can take out unwanted frequency peaks as and when they occur - unlike applying a fixed EQ to the whole channel. As a De-Esser, the Oxford SuprEsser is designed for the treatment of sibilance and fricatives in vocals, and the treatment of unwanted whistles and 'spirant' artefacts associated with wind instruments. However, it can equally be applied to removing low-end 'plosives' and thuds from over-close vocal work, without affecting components nearby in the frequency spectrum, keeping the low-end in tact. For the most natural sounding results, the SuprEsser de-esses only the frequency band you set - so you won't end up with an over-de-essed lisp-like voice with all the top end gone! Detailed visual feedback is provided thanks to the highly intuitive graphical display, allowing quick identification of the frequencies that need treatment and where to set the threshold. The threshold level and peak hold levels of the user-definable band are shown on the graph, alongside the FFT display of the narrow band signal, which includes retention of the peak level and the frequency containing the most energy. At the heart of the Oxford SuprEsser is an enhanced version of the compressor section of the Oxford Dynamics plug-in, which is renowned amongst professional users for delivering precise and transparent control of peaks. Around this is built a pair of cross-over filters to make the compressor react only to the defined frequency band. These linear phase filters are modelled on the filters from the Oxford EQ, making the SuprEsser useful for precise mastering work as well as mixing work. Three listen modes allow the user to listen to the mix, the output of the band-pass filter ('Inside') or the output of the band-reject filter ('Outside'). Features:
Highly featured professional De-Esser
Linear Phase Dynamic EQ
Transparently controls aggressive frequencies
Automatic Level Tracking follows energy levels (no need to automate threshold)
Large intuitive graphic display makes finding frequencies very easy
Full Spectrum Operation (20Hz -20KHz)
Three different 'Listen' modes
Very easy to use
Advanced Mode for ultimate control of the Dynamic EQ
Many creative as well as corrective uses
Presets giving good starting points Platforms Supported Pro Tools LE (RTAS), M-Powered (RTAS), AU, VST
Change the tempo of drum loops. Shift the key of a bass line. SoundToys Speed is the utility that lets you take control of the tempo and the pitch with three different modes to make it easy to get what you need fast and without glitchy pitch artifacts.Simple In the Simple Mode, the first screen you see, you can easily speed up or slow down tempo or raise and lower pitch. Audition in real-time and see if it's the sound you want. You can even use your ear to tune a loop to your song. Or try slowing down the tempo while raising the pitch or visa-versa for interesting effects. By the way, SPEED also works with DigiDesign's TCE (Time compression expansion) Tool to integrate right into Pro Tools. Simple, fast, and great sound.Getting Graphic The second mode is Graphic mode. Perhaps the most creative of the three, Graphic Mode lets you draw lines to slowly change pitch or tempo or both, independent of each other, over time. You can even see your waveform behind the graph to make it easy to do interesting effects, or subtle time shifting to fixing tempo errors in a file. You can even use it to make minor tempo shifts on overly quantized files to add a bit more humanity.Calculated Effort In the Calculator Mode there is no effort. Simply enter in the tempo of your beat and the new tempo you want and "voila". Same for the key, enter the current key, then the one you need and it's just that easy. Whatever suits your needs there's a mode that make's it easy.
The URS Saturation plug-in digitally recreates four different and distinct pre amplifiers each featuring: a different type of input stage saturation, even and odd ordered harmonics and soft clipping. The initial four Mic Pre Amplifiers models include:
Class A Tube Mic Pre Amplifier - Vintage Motorcity
Class A Tube Mic Pre Amplifier - German
Class A Discrete Pre Amplifier - British
Class A Discrete JFet Pre Amplifier - Modern
Try the different URS Saturation algorithms on all your favorite tracks - Drums, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards and Vocals. Hear the added warmth!
About each model:
Class A Tube Mic Pre Amplifier - MotorCity
This algorithm digitally recreates the characteristics of a American tube mic pre amplifier that was popular in recording studios during the 1960's Motown era. Setting the drive control higher will add desired harmonics and tube soft clipping for a much more pronounced effect.
Class A Tube Mic Pre Amplifier - German
This algorithm digitally recreates a German tube mic pre amplifier that was popular in European recording studios during early 1960's Beatles era. This type of tube pre amplifier is coveted for it's unique distortion, presence and authority in the treble ranges.
Class A Discrete Mic Pre Amplifier - British
This algorithm digitally recreates the sought after classic British console all discrete mic pre saturation. This vintage amplifier was also used for the console's summing buss amplifiers. The added harmonics create the edge that is desired in both Rock and R&B music.
Class A Discrete JFet Mic Pre Amplifier - Modern
This algorithm digitally recreates a modern JFet mic pre amplifier that comes the closest of any discrete device to tube saturation. Although similar to a tube it has its own unique harmonic structure and sound.
Mix blend Control
Allows you to blend the right amount of Saturation with your source material. No need to use an additional parallel track or Aux send to get blend effects. At the 100 % Wet setting the Mix Blend Control is disabled.
Adjustable output control
The URS Saturation plug-in features an adjustable output control after the Mix Blend control to balance the final effect with your insert chain.
Plasma Style VU metering
Allows you to view both the input and output signal. The phenomena of added harmonics, soft clipping and saturation is that it sounds louder even when the meters do not indicate changes in level.
High Res 64 bit Floating point "Double Precision" processing
The URS Saturation plug-in Hi Resolution 64-bit floating point "Double Precision" processing for increased clarity and headroom. Why mention this clarity for a plug-in that reduces saturation?
Because, we designed the URS Saturation plug-in to reproduce Analog style saturation not Digital!
Native Support only
The URS Saturation plug-in currently supports Audio Units and VST for both Mac OSX.
RTAS is currently supported with a VST to RTAS Wrapper only (not included).
TDM Support Planned
A TDM version is planned and will be released at a later time for an additional charge.
