Evan Taubenfeld is a songwriter/recording artist and producer. He has worked as guitarist and/or collaborator with Avril Lavigne since 2001 and is also the singer for The Blacklist Club. We asked Evan if he would share with us what his favorite gear consists of. And he did.
Evan's Key Pieces of Gear
- Urei 1176LN - Black face and blue stripes, both are great for different things
- Neve 1084s, 1066- sound good on anything
- Shure SM7- the fact that this mic is 300 dollars make its the best ever.
- ELAM 251-at the other end of the spectrum, RIDICULOUS for my vocals. I wish it wasn't
- Universal Audio LA-2A - A MUST
- Quad Eight pres/EQs- nice on very thrashy mid range guitars, also killer on pop vocals.
- Love em or hate em, I cannot trust anything besides my Yamaha NS-10's
- Chandler Germanium Mic Pre, TG Channel, & LTD1
- Empirical Labs Distressor - I love that bad boy!
